Model One

I am disappointed with the Model One I recently purchased for my father. The reception is terrible. We have tried moving the Model One through out his apartment, tried the antenna up and even antenna down. I was surprised at how few stations we could get on FM, and not one Country music station which is his favorite.

The Model One we spent over $200 on is currently sitting on his side table, unplugged and collecting dust.

I will add that the look of the Model one is impressive, very sleek and exactly as pictured. But I didn't want furniture, I wanted a radio with excellent reception ability. This has not proven to be it.

I have always loved the look of the Tivoli one and purchased this one to replace an old one. The tuning is always tricky on these and the old school antenna feels like it does not belong with the sleek design. The overall sound quality is bass heavy and not crystal clear.

I ordered it to get good sound quality, which it has. But it has more. The design has such clean lines - nothing superfluous - and the materials are quietly beautiful. It is a functional and esthetic delight. I am delighted.

As expected the exterior style and finish is excellent. The walnut wood finish suits our cottage home décor. The radio receiver is excellent. So far all are 4/5 stars. However the sound / speaker is just ok. I was expecting more robust base when listening to FM music stations. The sound is clear and volum control is precise, but hoped for more base. Not a deal breaker but would rate the sound quality as 3/5.

I really like the tivoli audio model one design and the audio quality for its price is great.
