Getting one of the last last version Tivoli's with AM spectrum and a replaceable (for now) battery was great. Ordering was easy, price was good, delivery was prompt. It weighs many grams less than the OG iPal that it replaced (which sadly often means something) but its sound and reception seem comparable starting out. I'm so glad I got it. I hope it brings me as may years of joy as its iPal predecessors have. They're truly lovely beautifully designed and produced simple sonic devices.
Now, here's the sad part. The older Tivoli iPals are a work of art that should be able to persevere forever if not for replaceable parts no longer being available. This version seems to try to somewhat carry on this tradition (with, sadly, only a one year limited warranty). The newest "latest greatest" version of the PAL released after this one being reviewed doesn't seem to even have replaceable parts and no concern for repairs vs. replacement at all. That makes me sad.

Arrived 2 weeks (?) after order. AM reception very poor. Some FM sounds okay. We were replacing mid-90s Tivoli and expected more.

Got it fast. Looks beautiful and works perfectly.

Why would you need an extended warranty if the thing is any good? B.S.
